Description We're looking for an experienced consumer media and marketing leader to join our in-house Communications Planning and Media Investment (CPMI) team as part of our Consumer Marketing Organization. The CPMI team at Facebook has scaled significantly as we've expanded our consumer marketing efforts across our family of apps and services. This role will lead communications planning for a newly formed team with scope and impact across the entire Facebook ecosystem. You will be a key member of the CPMI Leadership Team, and report directly into the Head of Communications Planning and Media Investment.
This role will be responsible for leading strategic communications planning and media strategy and will provide thought leadership and recommendations of how best to connect with our consumers across Paid, Social and Earned Media. This person will also manage the team that is driving media strategy and partnering with the external media agency to execute this strategy and in market plans.

  • Partner with cross-functional leadership to demonstrate innovation in Communications Planning and Media Strategy

  • Build strong working relationships and leverage your influence with cross-functional partners across Marketing, Creative, Insights & Analytics, Social and Brand Strategy in order to develop holistic, impactful and integrated work

  • Serve as a credible, expert voice internally to represent Communications Planning and Media Strategy across paid, social, shared & earned channels

  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights to influence the audience and media strategy and recommendation, and inform tactical planning, execution and optimization

  • Oversee and drive the development of strategic media strategies and plans to deliver innovation and business outcomes. Define the media metrics for success

  • Manage a team of Integrated Communication Planners to deliver the work in a timely and consistent manner

  • Steward your direct team's development and career growth

  • Partner with the Head of CPMI and the CPMI lead team on strategic portfolio/team wide initiatives that will up-level and deliver best-in-class outputs across the organization

  • Help to intelligently scale the CPMI team, while establishing operational best practices around plan development, media investment management, systems and tools and streamlined measurement


  • 15+ years of experience developing and leading integrated communications strategies, media plans and campaign execution

  • 7+ years of people management experience

  • Knowledge of industry trends and innovation in media, tracking, analytics and research

  • Knowledge of consumer and cultural media trends

  • Experience planning and executing consumer communications campaigns across paid, owned and earned channels, across multi audiences

  • Knowledge of industry tools such as MRI, comScore, Nielsen


  • Experience leading Communications Planning within a Media Agency

  • Experience displaying thought-leadership and building trust and influence to successful collaboration with stakeholders within other disciplines

  • Experience working with a Creative Agency and Insights/Analytics teams

  • Experience managing a growing team and working effectively across all levels of management, teams, and disciplines

  • Experience working on high visibility consumer and/or tech brands

  • Experience solving for brand reputation briefs/brand reinvention briefs

  • Knowledge of the Facebook advertising platform and expertise in crafting media solutions that drive positive outcomes

  • Good instincts - able to initiate and drive outcomes independently and collaboratively, while operating in a complex organization

  • Paid media experience across all channels

  • Operationally minded with a quality service orientation

  • Experience and comfort working in a fast-paced, and at times ambiguous environment
