Description Facebook’s Social Good team builds products that drive real-world social impact at Facebook scale.—e.g., helping people fundraise for causes that matter to them, or navigate and support each other during a natural disaster. Our teams include Charitable Giving; Crisis Response; Mentorship; and Health, with a Blood Donations product and an emerging new bet.
Be a part of a team of designers who are passionate about maximizing Facebook as a force for good. As a Product Designer, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from understanding the needs of people on the ground; to concepting next-bet innovations through human-centered design; to communicating clear and delightful specs to engineers who build at the highest level of craft. You’ll be expected to utilize your full range of product, interaction, and visual design skills, and own large end-to-end product scopes that benefit millions or billions of people. This position is full-time and based in Menlo Park.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take big problems and deliver clear, compelling, and creative proposals for how to solve them at scale

  • Understand the problem space and influence product strategy, becoming deeply familiar with the people you are designing for

  • Design product journeys that integrate seamlessly into the broader Facebook experience

  • Prototype and execute pixel-perfect specs for engineers who build at the highest level of craft

  • Focus on impact, identifying and applying constraints that help the team arrive to clear outcomes quickly

  • Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers and content strategists to oversee the user experience of a product from conception through launch and ongoing iteration

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Communication experience

  • Experience working with engineers

  • Knowledge about product strategy and vision

  • Experience in building and shipping applications or software

  • Provide URL featuring examples of interaction design work

  • Demonstrated experience with end-to-end (hybrid UX and UI) product design

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Personal or professional connection to health-related causes. Perspectives particularly valuable include as a patient, caregiver, medical professional/clinician, public health

  • Experience leading entirely new consumer product experiences that show traction

  • Experience designing for diverse groups of people (international audiences, multi-language localization, accessibility for people with disabilities, etc.)

  • 6+ years of hands-on application design experience

  • 6+ years of visual design experience

  • 6+ years of interaction design experience

  • 4+ years of strategic product thinking and vision experience
