UX Researcher, Events

Facebook | Menlo Park, CA

Posted Date 11/10/2018
Description Events' mission is to help people connect and spend more time together in real life. Every month, 700 million+ people use Events to plan, find, and attend a variety of events, ranging from birthdays to festivals. Facebook Events have traditionally been associated with party planning, but over time people have increasingly used them for public and community events. We've achieved strong product market fit in Western markets and are currently exploring growing this foundation - expanding internationally and broadening use cases around "things to do" that included an expansion into Movies in H2 of 2017.
We are looking for a Researcher to join Events' Ticketing team. This team is solving problems for both the consumer and the creator audience. We want to help people easily find and get tickets to events they care about. As Events' mission is to help people connect and spend time in real life, a ticket is the highest intent signal we currently have to actual real-world attendance - providing you with a huge opportunity for impact. You'll work with partners throughout the company to shape how we think about ticketing partnerships, privacy models, and the future of ticket purchasing.
We need a researcher who is excited to lead this space, identifying the needs consumers and creators have when selling and purchasing tickets. The right candidate is an excellent communicator, comfortable in a flat and fast-moving organization, enjoys collaboration, and is passionate about delivering real world impact for people. This person is able to manage their research plans across a number of ambitious initiatives focused around inventory and engagement, charting the team forward with actionable insights used to inform decisions.
